Beacon Legal Group ("BLG") is seeking to hire a legal assistant. The firm primarily practices in the areas of immigration, business, and internet/tech law. Position requires an individual who is organized, detail oriented, and reliable; has good communication skills; and will adhere to BLG’s high confidentiality requirements with regard to law firm and client information.
Requirements: High school degree or equivalent; excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and current forms of electronic communication.
Preferred Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish; law firm experience.
Job duties include:
Responsible for learning, maintaining, and training others on proper use of firm’s Case Management System (CMS)
Following and maintaining consistent and efficient procedures, including but not limited to gathering and entry of client documents and data, logging case notes, and ensuring performance of proper case opening/closure processes
Day-to-Day Legal Management
Responsible for assisting attorneys and case managers with case preparation and maintenance, including but not limited to assembling and organizing information packets for immigration and personal injury cases, performing basic client communication, filing court documents, and providing litigation support.
Responsible for performing other tasks as may be required by attorneys or case managers, such as preparing for, taking notes at, & distributing notes from firm meetings; occasionally making travel arrangements for attorneys and case managers, and assisting in the preparation &/or coordination of projects such as immigration fairs and CLE presentations.
